                                               Servant Leaders' Ministry Club

The idea of Servant Leader is old. The Chinese sage Lao Tzu wrote about Servant Leadership in the “Tao Te Ching” in 600 B.C.  Also, around the 4th Century B.C. India’s ancient famous thinker Chanakya wrote about servant leadership in his book “Arthashastra”.  Christians are all to familiar with the concept of  servant leadership because Jesus taught principles of servant leadership in the Gospel of Mark. The Servant Leaders Ministry Club is comprised of pastors who pastor churches less than 250 members.  They are pastors with ambitions of serving others and supporting one another. This idea of serving others comes from Robert Greenleaf, who introduced the concept of servant leadership through his "Servant as Leader" essay in 1970, which posits that a servant leader serve others first. Notwithstanding the fact that the idea of Servant Leader is old, this club represents the beginning movement to take some pastors out of their comfort zones of leading and into a new world of leadership that serves one another and others…first.

What makes the Servant Leader Ministry Club so unique? This Club is committed to help building and strengthening pastors.  It is designed to facilitate fellowship between pastors to support their spiritual and physical needs as they lead a congregation. More importantly, it is designed to foster a congenial servant behavior.  At the same time, pastors in this club will have a regular opportunity to sow into the poor, hurting families, and one another's church.  They will be able to demonstrate their servant leadership characteristics in service and fellowship during meetings, activities, and fund raising events.

Therefore, this Servant Leaders Club is searching for pastors who possess the spirit of Servant Leadership, who understand this servant's philosophy, and who wish to be a part of a ministry that will help them grow as servant's of God.  We will accomplish this by attending monthly fellowship meetings, organizing and structuring opportunities designed to enhance, practice, develop, and nurture our character of servant leadership. We will also support one another through prayer, helping with local church functions, and attending one anothers church activities.   So, I invite all small church pastors to join me on this new endeavor!
